In Classes V-VII, students build on the foundations laid in the primary school. New challenges are met as communication, reasoning, problem - solving and value judgment become far more complex;

  • Our aim is to provide a broad-based curriculum which facilitates in-depth study of the key elements of English, Hindi, Marathi, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Art, Computer Studies, Music, Physical Education and Life Skills.
  • A detailed curricular framework is formulated which ensures progression and continuity through the school.
  • The Arts are a fundamental means of expression and communication in all societies, and hence to give children access to the cultural diversity and traditions that constitute artistic heritage, the School continues to provide a comprehensive Arts programme. Thus, the middle school children participate in Music, Art, Dance, Yoga, Drama and other activities during their regular class time as well as co-curricular activities; they also take part in core activity programmes (sporting and non-sporting), which are conducted during or after school hours.
  • The educational philosophy of the school encourages children to get a wide range of first-hand experiences. Much of our work is focused on the environment and therefore school trips are a vital part of the curriculum.
  • The evaluation system in the middle school is such that each child feels that he or she has made progress and shown positive achievement and success. There are continuous class evaluations for child’s performance in class, and students' performance and grades are monitored and reviewed throughout the year to facilitate their continued progress.

The MLS students are educated about the Human Rights and Values as part of the HRE Club . The staff and students are actively engaged in activities and trips to old age home, orphanage etc to sensitize them about the right to living with dignity and respect for all  and to develop their critical thinking skills and concern or empathy

Digital Citizenship Program (DCP) is the part of academic excellence in MLS. This program addresses the 21st century skills and is aligned to the ESP as well through digital media literacy. Digital Citizenship aims to teach responsible, safe and ethical use of technology.

Digital Citizenship program will be a separate program that will be divided into various sessions across grades

  • Parents are one of the pillars of MLS Wakad and the school believes in an active partnership with them. The parents are oriented about the MLS pedagogy before the start of the session and various workshops and interactions are scheduled for the parents in the form of PTM, Competitions as parent child duo and many more.
  • Inclusive education happens when children with and without disabilities participate and learn together in the same classes. At MLZS Wakad, we believe in inclusive education and hence students who are differently abled or have special learning needs are provided with an Individual Education Program and all support is extended to the student and parents.
  • The Parent Teacher Association ( PTA)  is an integral part of MLS Wakad. It is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school. The members of the PTA are elected and are actively involved with the school.
  • Our traditions and values form the core of the Emerging Student Profile or ESP at MLS Wakad. Celebrations in school have become an integral part of joyful learning, community building and thought provoking processes. Religious festivals from across religions, national and international festivals and important world days  are celebrated with great enthusiasm, fervour and pride. Children are exposed to the essence of the festivals through stories, music, dance, food, discussions on social issues and a variety of hands-on activities and projects.
